After achieving a connection and a successful login, participants were asked to enjoy the program until the each subsequent interactive trigger presented another interactive prompt. Interactivity from this point on did not require typing any data. The six interactive questions presented were either True/False, or Multiple Choice.
User response selection is made with either the arrow keys on the wireless keyboard, or the navigation buttons on the remote control, included with the Web TV box. Once the selection is highlighted pressing Return sends the response to the database.
Once each test question is answered participants would see an indication of accuracy followed by an invitation to receive more information about the topic of that question via e-mail.
Viewing the program in its entirety was required to receive an e-mail response about each participant's interactive experience. The course database application was written to use the last enhancement of each episode as an indication that a tally of participant responses could commence.
Following a successful interactive experience, participants would receive an e-mail response from the Language of Photography server that details their accuracy, provides links to additional information about a particular question, and thanks them for participating in that episode of the series.
