"The Eddie Files" video game demonstrates several possible TV enhancements. This demo shows one possible path through the game. You may view the complete demo in broadband or lower speed Real Video. (High speed viewers, try your Real Player's Double Size or Full Screen option.)

Intro

The game uses QuickTime to simulate the role of the digital TV signal. The first section of the demo sets up the story line.

Frame with hot spots

Clicking on a moving or highlighted item in the frame will pause the main video and bring up supplemental information. When the extra information page is closed, main video resumes from where it left off.

Web links

The program may link to web pages, either transported as part of the DTV data or over the Net. With careful design -- and a high speed Internet link -- the differences between Transport A and Transport B may be minimal.

Local software

The viewer may activate a Java or Javascript program running on local hardware.
