DASE
The DASE subcommittee of the ATSC is working to establish an enhanced television standard more powerful than the ATVEF specification. This effort is similar to the Multi-Media Home Platform (MHP) standard within the DVB. DASE will require a full Java run-time engine in the set-top-box, enabling powerful applications to be included within enhancement content.

SERVES
The DASE standard is not yet complete.
There are only a few prototype receivers available.

INGREDIENTS
The ingredients for DASE enhancements will likely be similar to ATVEF, with more powerful development tools required for more powerful applications.

INSTRUCTIONS
The steps for development of DASE content will likely be similar to ATVEF, with a higher level of expertise and development time for more powerful applications.
