Individual Enhancements |
Dreamweaver/new
from template/Web TV regular enhancement. Go into word docs, copy/paste for each enhancement. Preview in Web TV browser. If too much information for one page, add a "More" link with a bullet. Do a "Save as" and save page as "1a", "2a". etc., according to which enhancement you're working on. If you need smaller type in an enhancement, open the "Styles" window (accessible under the "Window" menu, select the type and apply the "small" style. Delete old Tab image and make sure old link is deleted. Go to Insert/image and add in tab image for the given segment. Create link for tab image that leads back to segment menu. Do a "Save As" for next enhancement so you don't have to repeatedly add in the Tab image/Link. Change source and link in Property Inspector. If you are including a link to a website, you need to: Add the link as you normally would Open the source code, find the link you just added At the end of the link, before closing bracket, add view="web" title=" [create title]" Upload everything to that day's folder (images and files go to same directory) |

Log in to SLIM
computer. Open SLIM (shortcut is on desktop). File/Open/Open previous day's file. Open Avstar/Scripts Today. Find out segment begin/end times and type into SLIM, leaving off the "18" and replacing with "00" (00:00:00 - 00:05:11 00:05:12 - 00:24:18 00:24:19 - 00:33:42, etc.) Add segment title into JavaScripted links. Example: setMenu ('segmenttitle.html') change to: setMenu ('genetherapy.html') Change dates to current. No hyphens or underscores in links. To add a new field go to Link/New Remember to watch the scripts on Avstar since segment beginning/ending times change frequently. Save (otherwise links won't show up at all) Connect to PBS CC Encoders (shortcut on desktop) Password: User ID: Hit Play, at 5:40 call PBS transmission, tell them you want to check that the URLs are broadcasting okay. Once PBS confirms links, hit stop. If links are not being broadcasted, and an 'error' message appears on SLIM's status bar, ask the PBS tech to turn off then turn back on the the encoder. When the PBS tech tells you that the the status light on the encoder turns green, close SLIM, open it up again and try to send the links again. At 6pm, hit play again. Leave everything running so that looping occurs for 7pm show. |
