SERVES
Digital Cable subscribers within systems carrying DTV broadcasts.
INGREDIENTS
1 - Digital cable system carrying your DTV broadcast.
Time Warner is most aggressive in carrying DTV broadcasts.
2 - Printed schedules for all your services.
You are already doing this for your analog services. If new services are
being added to the digital transmitter, additional schedules may need to be
prepared.
INSTRUCTIONS
1 - Negotiate With MSO
Develop a relationship with the cable system. Discuss channel numbering since it will be different from your DTV channel numbering. (Digital cable systems number channels from 1-999 and do not use major and minor channel numbers like DTV.) Suggest names for your channels, which may be limited to five characters by their system. (ATSC allows seven-character names.) Ask the cable system to use your logo in the EPG, if it supports this.
2 - Deliver Monthly Schedules
Make sure that your monthly program schedules reach the TV listings service
used by your cable system.
